Shape Blog Project

This picture represents GEOMETRIC shape because of the clean lines, and shapes seen in geometry.

The yellow wall, behind and around the red sign represents the NEGATIVE shape in this photograph.

The tea kettle in this photograph represents the POSITIVE shape in this photograph.

In this photograph, the cliffs represent biomorphic shape in that they are irregular, and represent shapes found in nature.
This photograph represents nonobjective shape.

Photo 3 Good Composition

This photo shows good composition because there is an overall feeling of balance and equilibrium.  The lines in the wood are harmonious and rhythmic.

Photo 4 Bad Composition

This photo does not have good composition beacuse there is no sense of balance or harmony about the subject. There is no sense of proportion or dominance in the image forcing the viewer's eyes to search to find the focal point.

Photo 2 Bad Composition

This photo shows bad composition because there is no harmony, balance, dominance, or movement. There are multiple items in the photograph that our eyes are drawn to, including Chykie, the article that he is holding, Brantley and the chair. Visually, the photograph is very distracting.

Photo 1 Good Composition

This photo displays good composition because there is a sense of harmony in the body positions of the two dogs. The placement and scale of Brantley (the dog in the front) to Chykie (the dog to the left) shows dominance in the photograph. The asymmetry of the photograph also creates balance.
